Irwin Corey, in varsta de 97 de ani, este probabil cel mai bogat cersetor din lume, locuind intr-o casa de 3,5 milioane de dolari din New York.
Probabil ca nu il stiti pe Irwin Corey, sau nu va aduceti aminte de el, insa batranelul a fost foarte celebru in anii 40 si 50, ca si actor si comic, scriind si cateva carti.
Cu toate astea, de 17 ani incoace, Irwin se trezeste devreme in ficare dimineata si iese pe strada cu un carucior plin de ziare gratuite, pe care le ia de la metrou, si pe care le imparte soferilor in trafic, cerand in schimbul lor maruntis.
„Ajutati un om sarman”, este replica pe care Irwin le-o adreseaza soferilor din trafic, care de multe ori ii dau bani, batranelul reusind s stranga pana si 100 de dolari pe zi.
Anii de glorie
Irwin Corey nu a renuntat la actorie si comedie si inca mai da spectacole.
De-a lungul celor opt decenii de cariera artistica, Corey a fost un simbol al programelor de comedie de la televizor si de prin cluburi de noapte din toata lumea.
A jucat in filme alaturi de nume mari, precum Jackie Gleason si Woody Allen. Aparea in mod regular la emisiuni de tip talk show si in seriale de comedie. Irwin Corey a avut de asemenea o glorioasa cariera pe Broadway in 1943.
Ce face cu banii cersiti?
De-a lungul carierei, Irwin Corey si-a strans destui bani si sustine ca cei pe care ii strange acum nu sunt pentru el, ci ii doneaza pentru spitalele din Cuba.
„Oamenilor de la care cer bani pe strada nu le spun pentru ce ii cer, pentru ca sunt sigur ca nu ii intereseaza. Intotdeauna, dupa ce strang o suma mai mare, merg si cumpar medicamente pe care le trimit in Cuba sau trimit pur si simplu banii”, spune Irwin pentru New York Times.
Batranul are ca si dovezi mai multe poze in care este infatisat alaturi de Fidel Castro. Una dintre poze este si semnata de Castro cu mesajul „Cu admiratie, recunostinta si afectiune”.

Released in 1994, re-released on DVD in 2002, documenting the life and comedy of Bill Hicks. It consists of two parts; Revelations, a recording of his last live performance in the United Kingdom made at the Dominion Theatre, and Just A Ride, a documentary about Hicks' life which featured interviews with friends, admirers and family.
In 2002 it became the first of Hicks' videos to be released on DVD, prompting one critic to comment on how topical the comedian's material had remained. His joke about the Bush administration learning about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction "by looking at the receipt" was made in the context of the First Gulf War, but was equally relevant in the run up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Seth Woodbury MacFarlane; born October 26, 1973, is an American animator, writer, comedian, producer, actor, singer, voice actor, and director best known for creating the animated sitcoms Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show, for which he also voices many of the shows' various characters.
A native of Kent, Connecticut, MacFarlane is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied animation, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He was an animator and writer for Hanna-Barbera for several television shows, including Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Laboratory and I Am Weasel, before creating his own series for 20th Century Fox entitled Family Guy in 1999. MacFarlane went on to co-create American Dad in 2005, The Winner in 2007 and The Cleveland Show in 2009 for 20th Century Fox.
As an actor, he has made guest appearances on shows such as Gilmore Girls, The War at Home and FlashForward. MacFarlane's interest in science fiction and fantasy has led to cameo and guest appearances on Star Trek Enterprise and voicing the character of Johann Kraus in Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy II: The Golden Army. In 2008, he created his own YouTube series entitled Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. As a performer, MacFarlane has sung at several venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall.
MacFarlane has won several awards for his work on Family Guy, including two Primetime Emmy Awards and an Annie Award. In 2009, he won the Webby Award for Film & Video Person of the Year. For several years, Family Guy has been a large subject of criticism from television watchdog groups, such as the Parents Television Council, who regularly condemn it for its indecency. Even fellow cartoonists such as The Simpsons creator Matt Groening, The Ren & Stimpy Show's John Kricfalusi and South Park duo Trey Parker and Matt Stone have criticized MacFarlane's creation on numerous occasions. He occasionally speaks at universities and colleges throughout the United States, and is a supporter of gay rights.
On the February 10, 2011 episode of the TBS variety nighttime talk-show series Conan, MacFarlane announced he is directing his first feature-length film, Ted. The film stars Mark Wahlberg as an adult who, as a child, wished his teddy bear would come to life. MacFarlane will be the voice and motion capture for the bear. It is currently in production and is scheduled for release sometime in 2012. MacFarlane also announced working on a debut album. The album, Music Is Better Than Words, was released on September 27, 2011. It has been announced that MacFarlane will produce a revival of Hanna-Barbera's The Flintstones for the Fox network. Development will begin in fall 2011 and the first episode is scheduled to air in 2013.
